I was born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, USA. I attended both private and public schools growing up. I feel it provided me with a strong educational and ethical philosophy that has remained with me throughout my life. I went to college on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelors of Elementary Education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. I taught in an American elementary classroom for 6 years before the birth of both of my daughters. At that time, my husband and I decided that I would stay at home with my two girls. While being a stay at home mom, I was able to be a volunteer with school and the area basketball teams. Currently, I live in a small beach town in North Carolina, USA. I have been working for DAYDAY30 since November 2015. I have a strong desire to teach creatively and use my American experiences to help others learn. Having my students participate in group discussions provides my classes with energy and a forum to speak openly using what they have they have been taught. By providing a fun learning environment we can take the journey together to become proficient in English. My name is Jesse Jackson, an online English teacher. I have been teaching English for more than 6 years. I have two Master degrees. My commitment is always to teach and train each individual student at their unique level and to build off that foundation. My desire is to instill in them a greater love and passion for the English language.

I enjoy working with children. I have six children of my own, three boys and three girls. They bring me much joy.

I love reaping the benefits of seeing each student grow in their ability to speak good English. It has been my experience that there are no challenges or difficulties that we cannot overcome. Together we can accomplish great things. My name is Roger Griffin and I have lived in Charleston, South Carolina for a little over seven years now. Several years ago, while in my early thirties, I faced the challenge of learning Spanish as a second language and living and working in a culture very different from my own. Other than a few simple words I had no training in Spanish or any other language besides English.

I believe that the personal experience of having learned a second language as an adult gives me a special understanding of how to teach English as a second language to others. It's not just translating words or phrases. It's learning how to think in that second language. I enjoy teaching English to my students. Besides my work for Dayday 30 I also work at a local institute as a volunteer teaching English to recent emigrants to my country. My name is Maren and I love teaching English with Day Day 30. I have recently moved to Mesa, Arizona from Cleveland, Ohio with my husband and baby boy who was born in July. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a minor in Spanish. I chose that course of study because I am very interested in different cultures and places, plus I love adventure! I plan on going back to school to get my Master’s and eventually teach geography. I have been to China twice and I hope to go back and revisit some of my favorite places and explore new areas. My hobbies include reading and writing, running outside, going to church, baking, trying new things, and spending time with my young family.Hello! Growing up, I loved learning and really appreciated school. I had the privilege of attending a high-achieving high school where I only had excellent teachers who were passionate about their craft. It was then when I realized I wanted to pursue a career in education. After high school, I enrolled in college and took a child development class and a course on teaching in a diverse society. In this moment everything clicked; I came to the realization that teaching children of all different backgrounds was my calling. Since then, I have taught Mexican, Chinese, and Japanese students. I am very happy to be able to work at Day Day 30 and love their firmly held idea that learning and teaching should be fun. Aside from teaching, I enjoy traveling, riding my bike, going to the beach, and reading. Hello! My name is Owen Deragowski. I'm a native English speaker from the United States. I have a bachelor's degree in history, and a TEFL certification. Over the past few years, I've been teaching myself several languages. I've always been fascinated by how languages work. I know that most of the time, learning a language can be boring, especially if you have no one to talk to. I believe that the best way to learn English is to speak it the way a normal person speaks it, not like a robot. The most important part is to have fun with lots of laughter and smiles.Hello!
